Exporting Models¶
The model exporting function of the Tool is designed to support, but not limit to the following use cases:
- Users edit the loaded models or perform such data engineering tasks as model merging and applying incremental, etc. in the Tool. They want to store the modified model as various types of files for persistence. The exported model files can be further loaded into the Tool or other tools for various purposes.
- Users convert the load CIM/XML based model into flat CSV files or ad hoc custom reports. These CSV-based files will be used to feed other applications, or loaded into a CIM-compliant database. During the load import, they can also filter out the unneeded information.
- Users create various diagrams using the diagram auto-generation capabilities. These auto-generated diagrams can also be adjusted for better clarity and look-and-feel. The adjusted diagram can be exported as standard-complaint files. They want to reuse these auto-generated or adjusted diagrams in the other applications and tools.
- Users want to partition the loaded whole model into several model parts, extract a subset of model for external network modeling, or simply export a portion of the model, such as a Substation, into a file for various reasons.
