Model Querying and Reporting

To support exploratory data analysis and tool customization, the Tool provides a powerful model querying and manipulation capability based on a data query language, called Model Query Language (MQL). MQL is a functional language that can be used to retrieve and manipulate CIM model data.

As an initial peek, the following sample describes a query: “find all ACLineSegments that are above 110 kV”.

ACLineSegment/[ConductingEquipment.BaseVoltage->BaseVoltage.nominalVoltage]>110

MQL can be used for different purposes. It provides users an ability to build various custom applications to meet their specific needs. In a word, MQL support is a user-centric feature.
