Graphical Features

The Tool leverages cutting-edge visualization technology, aiming to deliver users a rich user experience. It yields the power of visualization to users, enabling users to explore the information at their own will. More specifically, the Tool provides the following graphical features:

  • Interactive User Experience – Focusing on presenting the ‘interesting data’ by providing state-of-the-art graphical presentation and navigation features, such as animation, coloring, and zoom & pan.
  • Dynamical Interaction & Navigation – Providing data-driven dynamical navigations and interactions, enabling users to maneuver the visualization process at their own will
  • In-Context Diagram & Property Popup – Enabling users to view/edit the network components without losing the context
  • Semantically- Rich Graphical Representation– Encoding the rich modeling information in the graphical representations.
  • Visual Information Searching - Enabling users find the selected equipment in a substation diagram and locate the selected substation/line in a geographical diagram.
  • Rich Data visualization - The rich data visualization features are designed to present data, raw or analytical, as easy-to-understand visual elements to promote interpretation and recognition of patterns. More than 20 types of data visualizations are provided, primarily for visualization of power flow results.
  • Diagram-Based Exploratory Data Analysis – Enabling users to visually exploring complex datasets interactively within diagrams.
  • Customizable Look and Feel – Allowing users to customize look and feel of the graphical displays, including two built-in color themes, and persist these customizations as a personal profile
  • Auto Play – An automation feature that enables users to create a schematic diagram and export it to a SVG file for each Substation in the model or within a region.
