Is M3-Lite a demo version of M3?¶

M3-Lite is targeted to be practically useful.
M3 is the ultimatum goal of M3-Lite, with prioritized features/functionalities to be implemented incrementally:
Model Editing Enhancement
Hypothesis Modeling (SSH, Scheduled Outage, Contingency...)
Multi-User Modeling Environment
User Management and Model Authority Support
Audit Trail
Security
....

Ideally, downstream applications/systems support the CIM-based model releases.
Alternatively, the Tool provides rich infrastructure support (MQL-based Reporting, APIs in C++/Python, Model Transformation Framework, etc.,) for converting CIM-based model releases to proprietary formats.

M3-Lite is a model-driven solution, supporting any versions of CIM.
CIM extensions can be easily supported by modifying govern XSD profiles or via extension inference.

M3-Lite is part of the desktop version of CIMSpy/CIMdesk, primarily designed for single users.
Database model depositories can be shared by multiple users. File-based model depositories can also be shared if the model depositions are in shared drivers.
Coordination is needed to enable multi-users to work collaboratively. For example, a Project should be edited by a single user at any time.
M3, implemented as a client/server deployment, is targeted for multi-users.
